What is your purpose in life?My calling in life is to shine Christ's character by helping others so that those I help may know Him better.
What do you love, and how do (or will) your actions demonstrate this? I love people. People make up the majority of my (and I believe everyone else's) life. Perhaps the main reason why I am so interested in people is that every person is different. It is not so much the outward appearance that strikes me, but the person's personality, dreams, hopes, fears, and beliefs. I like getting to know what a person is really like and connecting with them. If a person is sad, I try to find out what they're truly feeling and step into their shoes so that I can give them the appropriate kind of comfort. At times I am so connected with a person that when that person is going through a trial, I cry with almost the same intensity as they would.
I am willing to go through many measures to help someone. Some say that this is a problem in that people can take advantage of me and either I don't notice it or don't do anything about it. Others criticize me for being too submissive. Although those are some valid points, it doesn't bother me. Whether it is by accompanying someone when they are lonely, giving loving advice, writing encouraging letters, or simply by listening, my goal is to be like Christ, who humbled Himself by leaving the glory of heaven and becoming human to save unworthy sinners. If I can touch at least one person and bring him/her closer to God, then my life here on earth will have been worth it.
Write your ideal job description.
If I could get paid for doing anything, it would be to learn. I love to discover and learn new things, especially when it is learning about the world that God made. I look at the world as a laboratory just waiting to be studied and be amazed at. It's a huge mine of knowledge that's only been
touched by humans. There are still so many wonders out there, so many things that God has made. Every year, something new is discovered, or something old changed. The things one can discover are limitless! I want to uncover as much as I can and use that information in the benefit for others. Brilliant researchers, scientists, and philosophers have written books on their discoveries and speculations. I want to be able to also discover something new and share it to the world. Perhaps I could find the cure for cancer or uncover a new gene in the human DNA. Not only do I like learning new things, but I also like being able to learn old things, or theories, and apply those theories in real life. For instance, after learning about photosynthesis, I would observe a seedling for a month or two and see how it has grown.
If I could be paid to learn, my days would be spent out in nature observing animals, in a laboratory testing chemical reactions, in an operating room watching how a surgery is done, or even in a classroom reading from a textbook.
